29th Takeshiro Festival
The event is held on the last Sunday of February, the month of Takeshiro's birth and death, in order to promote the achievements of Takeshiro Matsuura and the culture of the Ainu people, who are closely associated with him.
・ Takeshiro Matsuura, an explorer at the end of the Edo period, was born in Onoe-cho, Matsusaka City, and is known as the godfather of Hokkaido.
We hold this event on the last Sunday of February, the month of Takeshiro's birth and death, to let everyone know more about Takeshiro Matsuura's achievements and the culture of the Ainu people who have a close connection with him.
