Ujisato Gamo, General of the Literary and Military Generals ～ The Age of the Opening of Matsusaka ～
Commemorative project for the 45th anniversary of the Museum of History and Folklore
Four hundred and thirty-five years ago, in the 16th year of the Tensho Era (1588), the warlord Ujisato Gamo built Matsuzaka Castle in the 450-mori area, which later became the foundation of the commercial city of Matsuzaka. Ujisato excelled in both literary and military arts and demonstrated his talent from an early age, and was recognized by Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Ujisato was also a master castle builder.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the museum's opening in 1978, and posters from past exhibitions will be on display to reflect on the museum's history.
